Part 3: Amelia’s Origin: How did she get here?

I wanted a one-of-a-kind character that would capture Oliver’s attention and was just as fiery and determined as the platypus. As I began drawing birds, Amelia began to take shape. Before long, the lines created the sweet, determined, unique kiwi - Amelia.

Why a Kiwi?

They’re a perfect fit, another flightless bird, determined to survive. Amelia's character mirrors this essence. She refuses to conform, is solution-driven, and finds her own path forward, bringing Oliver along for the ride.

From Painting to Page

Once I knew who Amelia was, her presence in my stories became natural; she wrote herself into the storyline. As with Oliver, Amelia will appear in my books, touting courage and curiosity while enforcing and embracing what makes you unique.
