Spitting llama

Most often, I’d guess the focus would wander to relaxing, exercise, glass of wine, maybe distracting TV. For me? Nope - not so much. My thoughts were on llamas. Yes, llamas.

How’d this all start? The day’s human interactions spurned the phrase “drama, drama baby llama”, cycling endlessly in my consciousness. The pattern was a coping mechanism, an escape while dealing with the human challenges. Instead of addressing the clatter, I manifested a llama. Original, isn’t it?

Despite my best attempt to release the phrase and clear the image, neither would leave. Best way to get something out of your head? Put it on paper. Finding my pencil, I began sketching from memory complimented by a stuffed llama. In short order, my newest friend appeared, ready to come to life.

May I present to you my newest creation; et voila’, The Llama. I like him. He is getting ready to spit; might be an exclamation on how I was feeling at the time. (I won’t confirm or deny that position).

Aside from the spitting, what else do I like? After a few negotiations with myself, I am happy with how it manifested onto the paper. I like how the colors blended, keeping the llama spirit in tact while edging over into the abstract. Although this one is finished, the process sparked some additional ideas; may have some more llama’s in the future. For now, I’m good - this llama makens me smile. Hope it made your day a little brighter as well.
